Our History and Facilities

Founded and spearheaded by Geneviève Desrochers, Engineer, Ambassador and President of the Board of Directors since its creation, Proanima is a non-profit organization (NPO) created in 2012 to meet the pressing need for ethical and responsible pet management solutions.

We are located in a 22,000-sq.-ft. building in proximity to key arteries in the Boucherville industrial park (1470 de Coulomb St.).

In addition to providing temporary housing for the animals in our care, the building has clinical rooms where we provide medical care and sterilization services as well as indoor and outdoor spaces where the public can take part in training and education activities.

In addition to its state-of-the-art pet management facilities, Proanima boasts a multidisciplinary team that combines veterinary, administrative and behavioural expertise. The quality of our facilities, the complementarity of our staff’s expertise and our shared love of animals make Proanima a recognized leader in pet care.
