A brand-new animal service center at Montreal!

About the New Center

Located at 9350, boulevard Pie-IX , in the heart of the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough, this modern 3,620 m2 (39,000 sq ft) building houses a shelter for abandoned, stray or surrendered animals, while offering essential services and support to the population.

A Shared Commitment

This collaborative project allows the City of Montreal to standardize the quality of animal services offered to the population. Proanima provides a one-stop hub for animal services in Montreal. Proanima also works with the Montreal SPCA, partner with the city’s animal shelter organization during the deployment of Proanima’s activities in Montreal.

Founded in 2012, Proanima is recognized for its expertise in municipal animal management.
The organization currently serves 14 cities and municipalities on the South Shore of Montreal and in Montérégie, and offers services tailored to the needs of each community and to animal welfare.

Through this partnership with the City of Montreal, Proanima expands its services to residents across the city. The center has opened January 1st 2026.
